Bathing Hamsters

I decided to make a purchase of Chinchilla Sand for my Russian Dwarf Hamsters, but they barely seem to know what to do with it, can anyone help me?

That will be because they probably aren't programmed to bathe in sand like Chinchillas. I know Gerbils do, but not sure on Hamsters generally.

leave the container of sand in the cage and let them get used to it. They may not have had access to sand before.

According to a couple if websites they should know what to do and love bathing in it.

they will use it, it maybe just they haven't used one before , i would leave it in and let them get used to it ...
