Binturong_in_Overloon.jpg

I'm surprised this has yet to be discussed on the forum, but can we just talk about how hideous the Binturong model look like? The white patch on it's head, the creepy eyes, the rather fatty body, and the wrong head shape really puts me off.

But the offender are it's ears. I can't look at it without thinking it has two pairs of ears, even though it's supposed to be tufts. But they sculpted it to look like it has two pointed ears behind their ears, and it really puts me off.

Overall, I'm very disappointed with this new model. For a game that consistently gave us life-like accuracy animal models, I expected better from Frontier on this one.

Looks a bit tubby (though the angle of the image probably accentuates that a bit) but otherwise fine. A shaggy animal is never going to be the easiest to animate.

Exactly why the orangutan models' fur looks so different than the real thing; for how great the graphics and animation are, there's only so much realism that can be put into a computer game with a limited budget. That being said, the ears are very off-putting.

Official word on the Planet Zoo forums is that the binturong will be looked at again, to see if the model can be altered.

Yep, the model was changed in just a few days and the updated one ended up being released with the pack. I thought the original was fine, but now it’s one of the most realistic-looking animals in the game!
