The Japanese water scavenger beetle Regimbartia attenuata has figured out how to escape from being a frog snack by making the frog poop it out intact. How exactly the beetle survives the frog digestive system thrill ride remains to be determined. When their legs are immobilized, they get digested, so it has something to do with the legs.

Wow, this is quite fascinating. Is it only with frogs that they are able to do this. I am wondering when this adaption could have started or if there is evidence in the fossil record of such an adaptation.

According to the experiments, 90% of the beetles fed to the frog were excreted.
