Wow, you're lucky to get a pair of giant anteaters so quickly; Marwell had to wait nearly two years before the male Ernesto recieved the female Arica.

Oh this is FANTASTIC!
Brilliant to hear 2 anteaters are coming along with the Capybara and Yhetoo and the rest. Can't wait to here of their progress.

My cousins favorite animal is the Giant anteater (as you know Al:p) so wait till he hears about 2!:D

Well, Marwell has the Somali Wild Ass, Dorcas/Dama Gazelle, Sable Antelope, Takin, Okapi, etc. They have they're fair share of rare species successes. :p

Yes you have a good point, however hoofstock as a rule are generally easier to breed. The okapi are indeed slightly harder. Marwell is indeed a great zoo and have amazing breeding successes with hoofstock and big cats! :)I believe what zoogiraffe means species such as purple-faced langurs, francois langurs, sifaka, pied tamarins, black lion tamarins, black-footed cats, clouded leopards etc Without our success with these species it wouldn't have been possible to be given/loaned species such as the sifaka, tree kangaroo, anteaters, golden cats and moloch gibbons!

Ah, of course. And for that I respect Belfast greatly, especially you're success with the primate species'. :)

You are quite correct that was exactly what i mean`t and long may you have continued good luck with these hard to keep and breed species.

Yeah, sorry. Been going there since I can first remember, what d'ya expect? :p
Well i`ve been going to Chester for well over 30 years and i don`t bring every thing back to their, but i do acknowledge other zoo`s when they do good work with unusual species and not turn it back to my favorite zoo, just to let you know as much as i like and love Chester i would love to have Belfast on my doorstep more than Chester even with the wonderful little hill its built on the side of.

Greetings old chap!! Glad you like us so much :). It's funny when you work somewhere like Belfast that you often take the place for granted, so it's good to get reminded that it's a good place. By the way, are we unique at Belfast in having two zoos on the same site, viz: the old (Bellevue) and the new (current)? Finally, just a reminder that we're 75 years old on 28th March this year having opened in 1934 - and no, I wasn't there for the opening!!! :p

For starts old chap can we have less of the old chap!!!!!As you are old than me,i know what you mean about taking places for granted must admit i do the same with Chester but don`t worrry i have no problem with reminding you of what a cracking zoo you work in.As to if you are unique in have 2 zoos on the same site cannot think of any others in the U.K so in that case would say yes.Are you quite sure you weren`t about at the zoos opening in a previous life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
