Here is a species list for Bergen County Zoo based on my recent visit (7/5/2022)

CENTER & WEST SIDE

• American Bison (Bison bison)
• Elk (Cervus canadensis) - NOT SEEN

• Red Wolf (Canis rufus)

• Black-tailed Prairie Dog (Cynomys ludovicianus)

• Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) - OFF-EXHIBIT

• Green Iguana (Iguana iguana)

*There is also an Education Center building which was closed on my visit that contains several herps and invertebrates.


EAST SIDE 1

• Northern Coati (Nasua narica)

• North American Porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum)

• Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio)

• Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus)

• Bobcat (Lynx rufus)

• American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis)

EAST SIDE (OUTDOOR TERRARIUMS)

• Brown Anole (Anolis sagrei) - OFF-EXHIBIT
• Smoky Jungle Frog (Leptodactylus pentadactylus) - OFF-EXHIBIT

Why did the Bald Eagles move to the East Side? And what happened to the farm animals?

Why did the Bald Eagles move to the East Side? And what happened to the farm animals?

Sorry, forgot to add the domestic animal section. I edited that in. I only list wild animals, but the farm had a cow, horse, and several goats and sheep on display. Also some geese that were off exhibit.
I'm not sure when eagle moved. It was my first time at this zoo.

Oh. The eagles used to live in a habitat on the far-right side of the bison overlook. Was anything there when you went (if the habitat was even there)? And what other animals were the eagles near when you went?
Sorry if I’m being pushy, it’s just that Bergen County was the first zoo I ever remember visiting, and I want to know how things are going over there.
(And I can’t seem to find an updated map)

No worries, you're not being pushy
I'm aware that the map shows a Bald Eagle exhibit near the bison/elk, its still on the most recent map. But that section was empty with no signage, and looked abandoned. The Bald Eagle is near the Spectacled Owl, Baird's Tapir and Guanaco exhibits. Also, if we're following the map, the Ocelot is gone and the enclosure is now home to some more Cottontop Tamarins, as listed.

They had to move the eagles due to the fact that they're previous exhibit was open top. Due to new raptor laws due to bird flu all birds of prey must have a closed top, even if they can't fly.
