Best American Zoos: Southern United States

I am trying to do something new to come up with a list of the best American zoos according to this website. I will be putting up 7 of these polls, for several different regions. PLEASE only vote for ONE zoo in ONE poll! Also, this is not for the one with the biggest collections or most immersive exhibits, but the one that you enjoy spending time at the most.

I have visited 9 out of the 10 zoos on this list (Lowry Park is the omission), and all in the last few years. It was a tough choice as Zoo Miami is a big favourite of mine, but my vote went to North Carolina.

I voted North Carolina as well. But if DAK was an option I would have chosen it! Also not far behind is Tampa, Miami, Atlanta, and Nashville!

I voted the Jacksonville Zoo because it was the best zoo I visited on this list. I would but Zoo Atlanta second and Lowry Park third.

Out of the zoos I have been to on this list, Miami is the clear winner.

Haven't been to Riverbanks or North Carolina yet, but I am shocked Miami is currently winning. As I posted in my review, I just wasn't all that impressed with it.

Miami with NC on its heels. If the Asian expansion goes through it will surpass Miami.

I'm with Dallaspachyderm -- to me Disney's Animal Kingdom is the clear #1 in this area.
