Hiya everyone, looking to do some research on captive european griffon vultures but have only seen them in a few collections (not many zoos near me!) Hoping to look at contrasting exhibits so it would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thank you :)

The best is arguably the great aviary in Tierpark Berlin, the worst are the ones with pinioned birds such as Gelsenkirchen, Duisburg and Mulhouse.

Budapest's is decent too:

Heaps of these in the German-speaking area.

Second for the free-flying colony at Salzburg (they are zoo animals - they are fed inside the zoo)

Zoo la Garenne in Switzerland has a walkthrough aviary for vultures and ibex, too.

For the worst, Berlin Zoo had relatively small, barely adequate aviary, quite the contrast to Tierpark.

So you have complete spectrum: from pinioned animals on paddocks, via pairs in small aviaries, through large group aviaries to a free-flying colony. There are many falconry vultures, too. Please note that many vultures are rescues, so you need to separate background health of the bird itself from the effect of enclosure.
