This is just a bit of fun to judge the general consensus on the best enclosure for Indian Rhinos in Germany. I have added a few photos from the gallery to make it easier for members to compare the different exhibits. If anyone wants to make an argument for a particular enclosure, please feel free to do so. Also, I would encourage people to list the enclosures in order of what they think is best.

Berlin

This is a new exhibit, so there are no photos in the gallery. If someone could describe or provide a photo of it, that would be great.

This is Berlin's exhibit (I am pretty sure that they share it with Visayan warty pigs):

The Wilhelma is the worst of the bunch, outdated indoors and outdoors. Munich is nice outdoors, but indoors is tiny too. Zoo Berlin is easily the most impressive, certainly from a architectural standpoint, but they keep 4 rhinos. Which means there are always 2 locked indoors as they lack sufficient outdoor enclosures, which is inexcusable for such a new exhibit. So it is Nuremberg for me, with spacious outdoor enclosures (including a very large one shared with sousliks and Visayan warty pigs) and a boring indoors.

The indoor areas of Munich (plus points if the animals can uese the water), Stuttgart and Nürnberg seem pretty similar to me (depening on the number of animals the space obviously varies - since I belive that they only have one rhino in Nürnberg which makes the indoor space much bigger as it can use all the boxes). Wilhelma has defenatly the worst overall enclosure. I honestly can't remember the Munich outdoor area but looking at the photo it seems quite nice. The rhinos at Nürnberg were always a highlight when I visited and I really liked the outdoor space. Berlins indoor enclosue looks fantastic with its huge underwater viewing. The outdoor enclosure also seems alright. Considering that they keep 4 animals (as @lintworm mentioned) it doesen't feel right to give them the top spot (if they would only keep a pair they would be the winner for me). So I will go with Nürnberg.

Do the soulisks have their own sign? I don’t remember seeing them.

Poll closed. Congratulations to Nurnberg for having the best Indian Rhino enclosure in Germany. The large outdoor area and animal mix gave them a tight win over the new area in Berlin, which may have been let down due to them having 4 rhinos and Nurnberg having 1. This is Berlin's best performance so far, and with the Hippodom leading the way at the moment too, they are showing that Berlin do have some really good exhibits.

Nurnberg: 54.2%
Berlin: 41.7%
Wilhelma: 4.2%

Given Nuremberg's historic connection to the Indian rhino thanks to Albrecht Dürer (the painter, not the care hire owner or the insect), the rank is rightfully deserved.

Although I have never visited either zoo, why should they build a new exhibit at the Tierpark? They already have a brand new exhibit for them in Berlin. I thought the plan were for them to get the Blacks.

Well, they aren't building any rhino exhibit currently in Tierpark Berlin and if rhinos come back to the Tierpark they will be Africans...

They recently confirmed that there will be African rhinos and also lions again in Berlin Tierpark. But First of all, there will be African elephants again (probably in 2025 or 2026). So it will be some more years.
