I would like to know what everyone thinks is the best panda enclosure in the world.I mainly want to know bcz ueno zoo has a new panda exhibit.

I'm sorry,I don't follow edinburgh what happened.

In a short way, panda cost a lot of money (from food and cost to China). Edinburgh don't have a lot of money and they need to spend a lot in those cuddly bear.

So your saying they stopped exhibiting other animals to pay for the pandas?

Yes, please have a search on ZooChat and you will find plenty of information about it, not just Edinburgh, but costs, keeping laws and breeding laws in general of the Giant Panda. The Giant Panda is also no longer categorised as being 'endangered' now. There are 100's of other species endangered or above in greater need of help from zoos.

I knew the giant panda is no longer endangered and is kinda weird that it's still so famous as the cute and majestical endangered animal. But I didn't know edinburgh stop exhibiting other animals for the panda.I thought since edinburgh is so famous they will have a decent budget to exhibit the pandas without sacrificing other animals.

When it opened, Pairi Daiza's panda enclosure was the best in the world, according to China. It is therefore a very nice exhibit, especially because of the cave. Cave may sound exaggerated but this is actually a less over-the-top lodging than other areas or enclosures known for over-theming. You can get close to the pandas and it really gives you the feeling that pandas should not go extinct and you can also do something about it, the job of zoos. Yes, pandas are not the most endangered bear species and they sleep a lot, but they are just as endangered as polar bears, sun bears or sloth bears.

Chengdu panda breeding center in China, and Dapingyou park in China have large areas with trees and grass. I would look in China for the best exhibit - really an equivalent of some expansive woodland exhibits for native bears in Europe and America.

The new panda house in Ocean Park is pretty stupendous - a huge upgrade from the old facility, at the very least. The main problem is that not all of their pandas live in the new house, and some are still housed in the subpar, old exhibit. That being said, it's reassuring to see that they're working on improving their enclosures and phasing out some of the older, more inadequate housing.

Assuming you mean Ocean Park Hong Kong, there are only one panda (An An) in the old panda house, and the part have been renovated to be the snubbies exhibit. The exhibit for Ying Ying and Le Le are quite good but i always take my attention to the red pandas more lol.
