Best place and time to see Flamingo Chicks

Recently my girlfriend has become fascinated with flamingos. When do they lay their eggs and hatch young, I would presume spring but couldn't guarantee it personally.

Also which zoo or wildlife park would be the best place to see any chicks in the U.K?

Regards,

Martin

I think Chester had some smallish chicks on sunday. Bristol also breed them pretty well.

Chester has 3 Chilean Flamingo chicks in the flamingo house. They have been handreared. Late summer onwards is a good time to see the young.

There are also a lot of chicks of both species in the enclosures.

Longleat hatched their first chicks this year. However, even if they did a repeat performance next year, I wouldn't imagine you'd get a good view from your car.

Edinburgh zoo currently has Chilean flamingo chicks hatched this year.

But surely the best place to see flamingo in the UK would be the wildfowl and wetlands centre, headquarters at Slimbridge.
There can be seen all 6 species of flamingo greater, lesser, Caribbean, Chilean, Andean and James's.
There is only one other collection in the world that boasts this diversity of flamingo and that is Berlin.

Slimbridge - Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT)

When I visited Slimbridge a couple of months ago the only group with chicks were the Greaters , none of the others appear to be breeding .

Def Slimbridge if you want to see chicks. They haven't done so well this year but have bred 4 species in the last few years
