Dallas is a bit better than Fort Worth IMO.
And Virginia Zoo is much, much better than Philly.
Smithsonian should be on there.
Columbus.

I can’t believe that no one has mentioned the Bronx Zoos World of Reptiles yet. It’s historic building with lots of great history and a fantastic collection worthy of such a top-tier zoo in addition to all the other herp species kept in other exhibits though out the facility.

And almost every exhibit in it has been renovated in the past few years. Its not the best in the nation but I would place it top 10, especially given its collection. Plus the fact that one of the earliest reptile houses (1899) is still serving that purpose must be applauded.

Quite an US-centric list, isn't it? ^^

The problem with rankings is, as usual its huge dependence on the individual ranker's preferences and factual knowledge about the matter at hand. A fan of historical architecture might favor an antique building over a new one #tedmosby, whereas someone with practical expertise might judge the husbandry aspects differently than someone who has only little knowledge about this topic. And then there are the cultural differences, as exemplified in the Cheyenne Mountain zoo reptile exhibit discussion.
Thinking about worthy European contenders, I realize that quite a few are either combinations with the zoo's aquaria or just reptile zoos. Do they count as well?

I always had a liking for London Zoo's reptile house - I do feel that has actually stood the test of time, at least compared to some of their houses.

Berlin Aquarium's reptile floor is very nice too. Not as flashy as the aquarium or insectarium, but it does have that nice centre section with the bridges over the caimans and gharials.

Reptile house at Wrocław zoo is the biggest. The exhibit count, thanks to Lintworm is:
from memory 224, excluding the invertebrate ones, but I didn't take any notes, so could be wrong, but more than 200 for sure

More reptiles are kept behind the scenes. This is separate from Afrykarium with crocodiles and some other big reptiles, old crocodile house, freshwater aquarium and Odra river outdoor exhibit.

Probably some outdoor crocodile farms in the tropics have larger area and individual animal count, but they do not come close to the diversity of species. To my understanding, places like Fort Worth do not come close. I heard that MOLA has 99 exhibits and the building seems to be maybe 3 times smaller than Wrocław.

The best reptile house I've seen is Smithsonian National Zoo. It has high quality Exhibits and numerous rare species with high conservation value. I've seen St. Louis Zoo's as well, and while it is certainly a good reptile house it is not in the same league as the National Zoo.

Thank you for your responses everyone. I agree that smithsonian and Bronx should be up there and dallas should too. We are focusing on ones in the US and what do you guys think is better Dallas or MOLA

MOLA
This may sound a little weird but Staten Island Zoo has one of the best reptile collections in the country
If there's extra room on the list, that should definitely be included. We could give it "honorable mention," if there's not room left on the top ten list.
