Best small Zoo in UK Who and why plus one improvement

This is My first Post! Yesterday I went to Sea Life Adventure Southend, and they had a very good array of animals for such a small site. They had Lab monkeys, a tropical house and Swinhoe's striped squirrel's that I had not seen prior to my visit.

Agreed: it's an interesting little collection. Worth pointing out that the monkeys are crab-eating macaques.

Northumberland Zoo definitely deserves a mention here.

Some excellent enclosures for Snow Leopards, Serval, Canadian Lynx, Raccoons and Capybara/Tapir.

Some state of the art modern buildings to house Livingston's Fruit Bat and the former "parrots of the world" which is currently being redeveloped.

Plenty for kids to enjoy such as a new play area, a Guinea pig wild-west themed town, farm animals and walk through wallaby and lemur exhibits.

For me, Hemsley Conservation Centre in Kent has got to be my favourite small zoo. It houses a fair amount of endangered and unusual species, which I personally would prefer to see than the usual crowd pullers.
