In its place is the Pygmy Hippo exhibit - It keeps the same footprint, with the addition of a small wooded grass paddock. The centre of the "pit" was filled in, creating a moated island for the hippos; It is split in half to allow separation, but can be opened up to allow the animals to mix. As Bristol currently only have one female, Sirana, I'd imagine she has full access.I guess when you're living in a pit you have nothing better to do.
How big was this enclosure and does it still exist today?
