This is just a bit of fun to judge the general consensus on the best enclosure for Colobuses in the UK. I have added a few photos from the gallery to make it easier for members to compare the different exhibits. If anyone wants to make an argument for a particular enclosure, please feel free to do so. Also, I would encourage people to perhaps list the enclosures in order of what they determine to be the best.

If anybody has photos/a description of those I'm missing please share them. As usual if you vote for the other option please state which collection you're voting for.

Definitely Howletts ! large enclosure with high climbing areas. Longleat was close but the limited climbing just doesn't make it. Twycross and Blackpool both need major upgrades
 
This has to be between Port Lympne and Howletts, though Paignton is ok.
London, Africa Alive, Blackpool, Twycross, Drusillas don't deserve a vote
 
Paignton’s Kings are now off-show & it’s a bit of a sore topic as there is a huge on show exhibit lying empty in Monkey Heights. The King group is now healthy. The PZ exhibit is good but is slightly let down through not having access (electrified) to the planes trees in their outdoor runs.
 
That London enclosure hasn't been used for Colobus for at least 6 years, it currently holds Sulawesi Crested Macaque.

Of course, the plan is for them to move to the revamped Snowden Aviary at some point in the future.

I hope many zoos copy colobus electric fence barriers from Howletts and Port Lympne!

They seem easy to install on almost any ground, fraction of the cost of moats or aviaries, and suitable to enclose large areas for various monkeys!
