Many zoos in the united states have large mammals. These in incude hippo, rhino, elephant and giraffe but which zoos have the best habitats and collections of large mammals?
- my vote is for the bronx zoo which exhibits 7 indian rhino in a huge forest habitat, 2 elephants on 2 acres and giraffes in a huge feild which is at lesat a few acres
please vote!:)

I would have to consider it more, but there's no way I would vote for the Bronx considering the elephants and rhinos are only seen on the never stopping monorail. I guess if you aren't considering visitor experience at all, they rank better, but still not at that great considering the elephant exhibit is nothing special and they lack hippos.

Off the top of my head, some good ones are:

-SDWAP as AD mentions
-SD Zoo has a good collection and a great hippo exhibit along with a large elephant exhibit with a great pool, but some negatives as well.
-KC Zoo has very good elephant, rhino, and giraffe exhibits along with a mediocre at best hippo exhibit.
-St Louis may be among the best, but I've never been.
-Disney Animal Kingdom may be the best for the animals, and would perhaps be the best for people too if they could look at the animals for longer.

-SDWAP:Mention before
-St. Louis Zoo:Mention Before
-DAK:Mention Before
-North Carolina Zoo: Watani Grassland Reserve(Elephants and Rhinos) and Forest Edge(Giraffes), check out SL's 2010 Road Trip to find out a full review of the zoo.
