Best Zoo Names

Why's that? For me, it just says exactly what the place is in a fun way.

That the place is a zoo in America? I guess. It seems like a very undescriptive name, and it also seems kind of pretentious to proclaim themselves something like "Zoo America" as if nothing else would qualify to be called that. It also gives no clues as to where it is located, which is a little frustrating for such a generic name.

Then again, I don't really care all that much.

I thought it was more because the zoo focuses on American species and exhibits them in regional thematic complexes. Of course, there are other facilities that do something similar, but it's also situated in Pennsylvania which I think of as a state often associated (especially for tourism) with the history of the US, patriotism, founding, etc. I like the fit.

Honestly, this won't do the zoo justice. But c'mon. Who hasn't ever thought of the pun ham burgers' zoo.

A since-closed petting zoo in New Zealand (Carterton, Wellington Region to be more specific) was named "Wallowing Heights".
What does that even mean? Have you ever been there? How is it?
The "Doo" part might draw inspiration from locations in Australia that have "Doo" in their name (e.g. Humpty Doo, Doo Town), but the rest of it is a mystery to me.

I’ve weirdly always liked the name of the “Roger Williams Park Zoo.” I mean, I can’t really explain it, but at least to me that name conveys a mellow and modest, but oddly earnest and genuine feeling that works very well for the low-key charm that the zoo has.

I don’t know if that’s going to make sense to anyone, it sounds weird now that I look at it.

To turn this on its head - the worst zoo name is surely one which has to be explained, so the best will by default, be clear and descriptive.

I loved the name of the now-defunct Wild Wilderness Drive Through Safari in Gentry, Arkansas. However, it really did not live up to its name though, with many instances of treating animals cruelly, and it may have been the actual #1 worst zoo in the US.

Aside from that, I also really like the name "Lion Country Safari". Even though it is very overused, it is an insanely good name and is 1,000 times better than "African Safari".

I also like the name of the Noah's Ark Zoo Farm even though they don't have two of every single animal on earth.

Isn’t Wild Wilderness where a horse was mauled after being put in a “mixed-species” exhibit with an American Black Bear?
