Wildlife Heritage Foundation Big Cat Sanctuary - Smarden

I believe it was 2017?? I think her mum (luna) wasnt feeding her properly so she was sent to giles clark.

Has anyone been to the open days this weekend, or going?
I was wanting to until I saw it was only morning sessions as previous ones have been to I've never seen many active cats in the morning so what in previous times has been a 12 hour round trip for a couple of hours viewing put me off.
Not seen much footage from it (on twitter anyway) unless there's a bit on facebook as I don't do that anymore.

@catfan For the sake of going somewhere I hadn't visited before, I took the gamble and went today. The majority of the cats were inactive today, but the Jaguar cub and mum kept everyone entertained throughout.

I thought I was lucky when got to see Maya and Willow the last time I got down there but they were fully grown by then. Seeing Keira with her cub must have been fantastic :)

I went for the 2020 open days the other month and managed to see all the cats! The day I went it was also raining which meant the cats were not really being as lazy because it wasnt as hot. I suppose this was just luck. I thought the site has some great enclosures and look forward to seeing the new small cat enclosures being built.

Kirana the Sumatran tiger from Chester is being moved to the sanctuary, her arrival coinciding with Year of the Tiger.

so whats chester up too are they moveing both of the older ones out to bring in abreeding pair

Persume they will bring a male in for Kasarna however her bloodlines may be well represented through her mum.

It will be a interesting waiting game.

Amur Leopard, Hogar and Puma, Tocho will both leave on Monday 21st December. Destination's not yet announced

There current enclosure's will be demolished and rebuilt for other species
Anyone with information where both Amur leopards were moved to or ended up? Should be possible after almost A year

Does anyone know if Snow Leopard Khumbu has moved to Twycross as previously expected?

Yes, it certainly is interesting. I was under the impression she was not to be bred because her bloodline was overrepresented.
