Went 8 days ago and the lynx, Mongolian horse, eagles, and swamp area was closed off due to construction on the new wolf habitat.

A Black and white colobus monkey was born October 31:

Colobus monkey born at Binder Park Zoo

The event marks the first birth of a primate in almost five years at the zoo when a black mangabey monkey was born in October of 2015.

Colobus monkeys have lived at Binder Park Zoo since 1998. The Monkey Valley exhibit opened in 1999 and remains an engaging “in-the-round” exhibit where two primate species coexist - the black and white colobus and black mangabeys.

I visited today and there have been some changes! New signs have been posted, including one showing which snow leopard is on exhibit, the wolf habitat has taken over the horses, I'm assuming they were sent elsewhere as they are not even on the map, they have some kind of dinosaur area coming in place of the petting zoo, the dingoes have moved to the former wolf habitat, the southern ground hornbill bill is next to the carousel, the aviary in Africa has been refenced but with no top, the marabou storks were in there and appeared to be building a nest, there is an eagle exhibit being put together in the east zoo, the swamp area is boarded off, the new wolf exhibit is very large and you can see quite well into it.

I wonder if they’re planning on keeping the ground hornbills in the enclosure across from the dingoes long-term? It seems awfully big for just the birds.

Also, while the new wolf habitat is awesome, I’m a little sad that the Przewalski’s horses have left the zoo.

I actually saw the horses behind the wolf enclosure on Friday, but I dont know what they will do with them long term, I'll have to ask someone next time I go. I had assumed they had moved them.
