We had a lovely day out at Whipsnade yesterday despite the dense fog (did clear) and the drizzle!

So good we became friends of ZSL as we are off to london zoo at the end of april :D

Does anyone know why the bird garden was closed? Ummm we could have stopped to see if there was any notices but didnt

The cheetahs were fantastics yesterday I soooo love cheetah rock ! Colchester take note

Good news is the fence still up blocking the moat in the 2nd Cheetah enclosure?
Where there any protesters there?
Im hoping to go tomorow (monday) so hopefully it will be good weather :)
Where there many people there?
Sorry theres a few questions!
Regards

I think there was talk of re-developing this area last year to improve conditions for both birds and visitors. That could be why.

whipsnade zoo bird garden

on my inside knowledge the bird garden is shut because they are using it as a breeding centre for passerines they have moved some of the animals around to in there

Thanks for all the replys :D

It wasnt to busy but because its so huge I have never felt crowded there!

There was still a fence up and one cheetah in there.

Protestors? am I missing something lol

The bird garden could do with some improvement I wish we had stopped to look but there is just soooo much to pack in!

Hope you both have a lovely day :D

Thanks for the news KarenZOO whipsnade is one of my favourites and will remain to be! its the CAPS zoo awareness weekend so they protest outside zoos but obviousley not whipsnade :)
Cheetah rock is brilliant as it provides brilliant views (well the bigger enclosure does!) The cats ive seen were enjoying them selves last year.
Thanks again and im sure i will have a good time!
