Bird Paradise Bird Paradise news 2024

i have some info in which part of the aviary he can normally be found. he's usually seen on one particular balding tree when you enter from Mysterious Papua. other than that, try looking at the perimeters of the aviary

Has he been moved to Mysterious Papua? He had been in Lory Loft all along.

i saw this imperial pigeon in Songs of The Forest today. what species is this and has it been always there?

2 updates from Winged Sanc:

1) Blue-winged Pitta, Crested Pigeon and Wonga Pigeon are missing

2)i saw this bird that's now living in the 12-wired BoP cage. can anyone confirm if this is a Greater/Lesser Green Leafbird?

I saw an oriole at Heart of Africa yesterday, near the observation tower. The yellow-tipped tail and broad black band at the back of its head strongly suggest it's a Black-naped Oriole. Is this a wild Black-naped Oriole that went inside the aviary or is it some African species that I might have missed?

Has this holding cage been there before? It was located near the cliff at HoA. Wishing they are trying to habituate the bee eaters. :)

A small update:

European Bee-eaters have been introduced into Heart of Africa.

Northern Carmine Bee-eaters have arrived and are in the holding cage in Heart of Africa (near the manmade tree).

Cuban Grassquits added to the Guinan Cock-of-the-Rock aviary at Winged Sanctuary.

A group of Metallic Starlings has also arrived recently and are now being conditioned for release in Mysterious Papua.

Went for a short visit earlier, apparently the Northern Carmine Bee Eaters have been released to the Heart of Africa aviary. They were very active and it was a fantastic sight to see them flying around. With the weavers and starlings flying nearby as well, there are a lot activities between the cliff and the bamboo(?) area where the weavers are making their nests. I didn’t expect so many Carmine Bee Eaters - do they significantly outnumbered the European ones?

At the Lory Loft, there was a pheasant pigeon and the keeper specified it’s the Green-naped Pheasant Pigeon, a species that I never saw in the aviary before. Based on the keeper’s talk, apparently, the Santa Cruz Ground Doves are now separated by their sexes: the females at Lory Loft while the males remain at Songs of the Forests.
