The 0.1 Lesser green leafbird and 0.1 Hooded parrot are still at Winged Sanctuary's Santa cruz ground dove and Golden-shouldered parrot aviaries respectively.

Thanks, I can now update my species list :)

Does this mean they don't actually have Amazonian motmot?

I took the following photos at Amazonian Jewels on 5 Nov 2024 and 30 Jun 2025 respectively. If not mistaken it's the Amazonian Motmot (Momotus momota) and not the Lesson's Motmot (Momotus lessonii). Amazonian Motmot (Momotus momota) 5 Nov 24.jpg Amazonian Motmot (Momotus momota) 30 Jun 25.jpg

A couple of small updates:

There are supposedly plans to house Birds of Paradise (not sure which species) at Songs of the Forest aviary. A new holding cage meant for BoPs has been constructed in the aviary, near the Amazonian Jewels exit.

A couple of Spot-billed Pelicans have been moved to the holding cage at Wings of Asia for possible introduction into the aviary.

'Nila' the female Wrinkled Hornbill has been moved from Lory Loft to Winged Sanctuary for breeding, after the other female died.

My visit to Bird Paradise is coming up soon.
Are there any recommendations in which order to visit the various areas/aviaries?

I assume the late morning / early afternoon will have the least bird activity, but obviously I can't visit everything in the early morning or late afternoon.

Admittedly the best I've got is to see which animals have their feeding/keeper talk sessions around the time you're around.

Penguins aside because they'll always be there (with the exception of the Inca Terns since they like to hide up top)

There's only really 3 birds I know that will always be out in the heat. Being the Shoebill (HoA and WoA connector building) and Lesser Adjutant and Milky Storks (The bare tree at WoA)

Forgot to mention but I think this will be important, our Shoebill, Zane, is currently off display (at least still as of Tuesday) due to ungoing a medical checkup. Though I have not seen him for weeks, whether due to my sheer unluckiness or if he's actually been gone for that long.

Hopefully he will be back on display by the time you reach our park

I hope so to. My visit will be tomorrow so I'll know soon enough!

Today's minor and not so minor updates:

- Santa Cruz Ground Dove signboard at Winged Sanctuary is currently empty, similarly to the King BoP (which should have been gone for a while already)

- Blue-Crowned Laughingthrush signboard is currently with the Madagascar Blue Pigeon

- The Bali Mynas and Pink Pigeons have swapped enclosures, Kiara the Kagu still remains in his former enclosure so the Mynas are now his new neighbors.

- Songs of the Forest should currently have 3 Yellow-Breasted Fruit Doves, 2 adults and 1 juvenile specifically.

- Additionally, a little Birdy-of-Paradisey told me that a few of these individuals will likely be moving to the holding areas in the same avairy somewhere around next week.

Big note for a certain few fans of our Shoebill, Zane has thankfully returned to Heart of Africa. Though now he will be a lot harder to track, typically residing around the forested areas of the avairy by the watch tower. Wishing those looking for him the best of luck because I'm sure you will need it for now.

The Spot-billed pelicans have been introduced into the Wings of Asia aviary as of today too.

Some minor updates once again, mostly from Winged Sanctuary:

The Golden-Shouldered Parrot signboard, being almost worn out for a while now, has recently been replaced. Though instead with a Hooded Parrot signboard strangely enough. Unsure if the former still remain in the enclosure though, haven't seen them in a while.

The Negros Bleeding-Hearts now reside in the former Common Green Magpie enclosure, which have been taking residence in the former Baya Weaver enclosure beside the White-Crowned Hornbills. Just when ya thought the old enclosure for the Bleeding-Hearts was difficult to photograph-

The King Bird-of-Paradise enclosure seems to house a Honeyeater species, though I could not confirm if it was a Blue-Faced at the time and I'm not sure if it actually is permanent.

The former Santa Cruz Ground Dove enclosure apparently now focuses on the Lesser Green Leafbird. It only stars the female on the signboard which I find hilarious

The Black Naped Fruit Dove also recently got a tiny little signboard

Lastly to end with Australian Outback, our Magpie Geese family has expanded with a group of adorable chicks.
