Birding in Hawaii questions

Has anybody here been birding in Hawaii, specifically Kauai?

Do you have any recommendations for places where there is a good chance of seeing any of the honeycreeper species?

Do you have any "must see" wildlife viewing recommendations in general?

All feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

I have been birding in the Hawaiian Islands multiple times, but never on Kauai.

In general, the native honeycreepers and other endemic forest birds stay at high elevations, deep in the rainforests. So be prepared for a hike to see any decent amount of species! Binoculars are a must, as well. At lower elevations bird life still abounds, however there are many more introduced species, although natives can be found as well (Hawaiian Coots, Night Herons, and Hawaiian Stilts are all relatively easy to find)
