Birmingham Nature Centre Birmingham Nature Centre News 2013

I apologise, I read your post in a hurry! :) It does exist, I've been told that if I ask in advance then a keeper will show it to me. Don't think they'd offer to show me an invisible one! :p

I can't believe TWO ZooChatters visited my local whilst I'm out of town, I visit pretty much on a monthly basis...

Maybe they were hoping to show you the sloth twice? Hehe, maybe we should try a stake out for it?
I go to the nature centre about every couple of months I think, I can actually walk there, but I do like dudley better. I'm loving the changes lately, I miss the wildcats, but apart from that, some lovely small species coming in, I've got more time for small rarely seen things like the sloth than big showstoppers like giraffes that you see loads of places.

I go on average about once a month, with or without the family in tow! :p If you ever fancy meeting up then I'm sure I'll be able to fit it in to my hectic schedule! ;)

As for the armadillo, I'm certain it exists. Last visit I had involved a ten year old boy telling me that it was right up the glass when his school visited.
I also like Dudley but BNC is far better value for money and it's quite easy to double up and do both collections in a day, even by public transport! :D

Getting to Dudley on public transport is never something I look forward to.
I mean a town of that size without a central train station and no metro connection, what's all that about? It's almost as if they don't want anyone to get there lol.

Or they don't want anybody to escape:).

I worked there, getting to work by 10am on the bus involved an 8am start, luckily I got a lift home cause a senior staff member lived locally and took pity on me!
It's a scenic enough trip though, and a good book sorts you out.

Went up today if anyone has any questions. First time going i liked the place to be honest.
Seen the binturong in the housing next to asian short clawed otters, didn't notice that they where mixed.

As you walk in new exhibit still being made on when you enter behind the welcome signs (looks like outdoor primate section).

Will have a number of photos up later.
