Visited today, Komodo dragon outdoor enclosure is complete, will post a pic later. White-naped crane have gone, no idea what's replacing them but it's quite a large area for a small site so could be some nice new additions? Goeldi's monkey enclosure has been extended into the Sulcata tortoise enclosure, pic to follow later. Final bit of news is the invert' house is completely closed off and is being re-purposed, so 0 amphibians for the 2019 Global Challenge! :(

The invert house is being made into a house for the Sloths and another nocturnal animal, can't remember what it is now, but a keeper told me this in November.

The Invertebrate House is being developed into a purpose-built facility for both Pygmy Slow Loris and Grey Slender Loris. The family of Sloths will be remaining in the Nocturnal House.

Thanks for confirming. :) Any idea what the plan is for the former white-naped crane enclosure? And I assume the drainage work in the far corner (by the porcupines) is purely maintenance work, no unexpected extra enclosures to be built after it's finished? :p

According to Zootierliste, Binturong don't seem to be held at this collection anymore.

Does anyone know if their female has either died or left the collection, and if so will they be planning on getting more at any chance?

They had a male last month, I saw his tail! ;)

The Binturong has recently moved to Thrigby Hall. BCC don't hold them anymore.

BWCP still hold a female Binturong called Bibsi. The male, Sunti, went to Thrigby Hall in December.

Bibsi was off-show until Sunti left, and was then moved on-show.

Zootierliste has been edited incorrectly again, which I have now fixed.

I don't even use Zootierliste, and wouldn't even know how to edit something anyway on there.

In which case, I apologise for the presumption - which was based on the fact the incorrect edit was made hours before you claimed the species was no longer kept; in my experience, when misinformation slips onto ZTL, the source is generally the first person to claim detailed knowledge of said misinformation.

I had only ever seen one animal at the collection, I was unaware an animal was kept offshow, it is not something they freely mention. When it is then announced by Thrigby Hall that an animal has joined them from another Zoo, it would not be unusual for someone to suspect that the Zoo no longer held an animal when the one that could be seen was no longer there.

Also in the parks Otter talk, BCC had stated in the talks that they felt the enclosure wasn't ideal for the Binturong and that they needed to improve the housing and exhibit for them, so the Binturong was likely to move on

I personally find it surprising that when they say this on a talk, that they simply move the offshow animal onshow when one leaves, when they have been saying in their talks they ideally need to improve the exhibit for them.

I think basically it is a bad idea to say this:

When what you actually mean is this:

The poster the day before stated Zootierliste or whatever it's called stated they had no Binturong and asked if the Binturong had left.

I only commented that recently that said Binturong was at Thrigby Hall, and given that poster had already stated that a website was saying they no longer hold them, my response was not a bad idea.

Three gliding geckos are now in the crocodile lizard exhibit, there old enclosure is under refurbishment for a new snake species.

Visited yesterday, nothing exciting to report other than Pete using his outdoor enclosure. But, on the other hand, meerkat enclosure is being redeveloped so currently off-show, jumping rats are also off-show for the same reason, and porcupine are off-show because of drainage works on the site by their enclosure, not sure if any refurbishment is happening to the actual enclosure though.
