There are now a pair of Rhinoceros Ratsnakes on-show in the Reptile House in the former Kuhl's Flying Gecko enclosure.
Have the Kuhl's flying gecko's been taken off show or have they left the collection?
The Kuhl's Flying Geckos are now sharing an enclosure with the Chinese Crocodile Lizard.
Is this a new species for the collection?
No, there was previously one individual on-show in what is now the Chinese Crocodile Lizard/Kuhl's Flying Gecko enclosure. Whilst this individual was on-show, the pair that are now on-show were off-show...does that make sense?!

Perfectly glad the pair has finally gone on show,now just waiting for the Mandarin Ratsnake!!!!

A female Colombian black spider monkey has joined the park. She has been introduced to the existing male.

The park have announced Bettongs are now on show in the nocturnal house. What a great new species!
Have they got anything in the old White Napped Crane enclosure yet?
Dreadful! I hope the perpetrators are caught and punished appropriately.
Absolutely vile. There are some sick, soulless 'people' about. Appears to be pre-meditated too, as I don't think such a structure could be set fire to in such that way merely by using a cigarette lighter from one's pocket.
Credit to the firefighters and keepers for their speedy response and bravery in keeping the animals safe.
Apparently the monkeys will be temporarily housed at Dudley (in ex-polar bear Tecton perhaps?). Hopefully BWP get back up and running asap.

**REDEVELOPED MEERKAT AND PORCUPINE ENCLOSURE NOW OPEN**
After a period of redevelopment (which took longer than we expected!), our enclosure for Meerkat and Cape Porcupine is now back on-show to the public!
We have reused the windows and frames from the former Meerkat enclosure, allowing for much better viewing of the animals than was previously the case.
New sand, logs and rocks have been added for the animals to dig in and play with.
New signage, planters and a a lick of paint have completed the redevelopment process.
Currently viewing of this enclosure is limited to the new viewing windows, with access past the Pied Tamarins. Come and see them soon!

A nice improvement and a lot smarter than it looked before. A picture can be found here.
The new structure in the old meerkat enclosure, next to the binturongs, will be a new house for the yellow-breasted capuchins; giving them a lot more space. There is still some work to do before it is completed.
The invertebrate house has also been undergoing a revamp.The new exhibit will hold 2 species of nocturnal mammal (and hopefully no longer be called an invertebrate house).
Visited yesterday and have a few notes, not many though as it was a family visit.
Yellow-breasted capuchins have a very young baby, also the new house is coming along nicely and will be a huge upgrade in terms of accommodation.
Reptile breeding centre (next to the reptile house) is built but still empty inside, bar some paint cans. It will also be a substantial upgrade in terms of space.
Ex invert house looks complete from outside, hopefully it will be opening soon.
White-naped crane paddock has new fencing going up, not sure what's going in there but it's a decent sized area on prime real estate, so hopefully something substantial.
