Neither institution has confirmed where she was transferred to, so I won't say exactly; however, I will say that she didn't have too terribly far to go.

From what I understand, this transfer was made because of issues with herd dynamics. This female was being incessantly pursued and harassed by the male, so the decision was made to move her along. Apparently Birmingham does not have the facilities to hold many more giraffes than it currently does, so they do not breed. I do not know if there are any plans in the future to expand their facilities and make the switch to Masai or if they will continue to house a small number of non-breeding individuals. Ironically, the facility she was transferred to has plans to switch to Masai, so it is likely that she will be moved along again within the next couple of years.
 
That's weird at one time we had 2.3 on exhibit together. Jalil Edward Zuri Keyara and Willow. All were going to (at least publicly stated to be) a breeding herd. Right after Trails of Africa was built Edward was euthanized because he broke his leg. But Jalil and Willow had a male calf in 2014.

And they've publicly stated the Giraffe exhibit is big enough for a breeding herd.

I know they've made a bug deal about introducing the Giraffe and Ostrich to the Zebras. And also introducing all of those to the elephants/rhinos and hippo. I wonder if it is a herd dynamic situation.

I don’t know then. All I know is what I’ve heard in conversation with people involved both with the Birmingham Zoo and the facility to which this female was transferred.
 
Just a Facebook post instead of a Press Release but Callee will be leaving for a breeding recommendation at another zoo. So officially the first group of teenage Elephants has made it through. Bulwagi will only be alone for a little while. He will soon be joined by two more young bulls.
 
The only place I can think of as to where he might be going would be SDWAP now that Mabu is back at Fresno. Possibly sending a “few bulls” back to Birmingham in return? Thoughts?
