Two lion-tailed macaque born at Blijdorp Zoo.
Those endangered apes from the west of India have been part of Blijdorp since 2005. There are about 2000 of these species left in the wild and about 200 in European zoos.


On 21 August, a zebra was born at Blijdorp Zoo.
Mother of the little one is Eva (who was also born at Blijdorp Zoo in 2004) and father is stallion Loro (who arrived from France at the end of 2005). The zebra is female and was named Aryanna.
