4 maned wolf kits - Feb 2009

4 bush dog pups - Feb 2009

3 Gelada Baboons - Feb/March 2009

1 L'Hoest baby - Feb 2009

Others - Cotton Top Tamarins, Pigmy Marmosets, Goeldi’s monkey
 
female red river hog is heavily pregnant (finally!!!), the male & female are currently seperated off from the Bongo

Darwins Rhea have 5 eggs, Gentoo Penguins 4 eggs and Rockhopper Penguins 6 eggs

Do you know the exact number of owl-faced monkeys (their name??) at Edinburgh Zoo??
 
Owl-faced or also known as Hamlyns monkey

there is a breeding pair in one enclosure with last years youngster

also young male born in 2005 who is in his own enclosure and I expect him to leave the collection at some point

Bit of a prat aren't I. Although, how do they prevent hybrids being born? Both species are from the same Genus so it's possible in theory

104 gentoo penguin eggs laid !!!!!!!
 
0.0.2 rockhopper penguin hatched out of 10 eggs laid, the chicks are now 4 weeks old
 
47 gentoo chicks have hatched as well, pretty amazing number!! The penguins are fantastic to see in the breeding season, so many behaviours and things happening.
 
Also a tree porcupine and a potoroo joey which only started coming out of the pouch in the past few weeks!

Also, twin Ringtailed Lemurs born recently and a few more Pygmy Marmosets

Two Tundra Reindeer calves and one White Lipped Deer calf born recently
