The Danish news coverage also describes it as a baboon. I think because there was a tweet from the police which said they were looking for a baboon.
 
It is all well and good to report a primate escape at a Danish zoo, but what do we know about Blaavand Zoo anyhow?


A list of recent births and new animals would be newsworthy too!!!

Would anyone be so kind to put in a review of sorts?
 
That would be interesting. I honestly didn't know there was a zoo there until I saw the news story. It is at the other end of the country from me, but on the other hand Denmark isn't all that big.
 
It's a small local zoo that only has easy-to-source species (including a fair number of domestics) and nothing rare. The exhibits are mostly pretty basic, but fine. The only relatively uncommon species they have is striped hyena. An elderly couple that has been retired.

With the current fairly mild weather that forecasts predict will continue (a cold front passed the country some time ago), the Barbary macaque could easily survive for a long time in free.
 
Sure, it wouldn't die of cold at the moment. But I wonder if it can find enough to eat to survive?
