Port Lympne Wild Animal Park Black Rhino Exhibit

Can any of the UK zoochatters help me understand the layout and workings of the Port Lymph Rhino paddocks. I have included a google earth shot of the park and have the following questions:

• Are my delineations correct on the different paddocks?
• Which exhibit is shared with the baboons?
• Any idea where the holding building is located?
• How to they shift the rhinos to (and between) the individual paddocks?
• How many baboons and rhinos total are in these exhibits?

I think your delineations are correct but the area to the right above Paddocks 3 & 4 also forms two smaller rhino paddocks.

Baboons share paddock 1, but from memory only the section below the service road. They have an indoor house and outdoor cage situated in the bottom righthand corner by the pathway.

There are several holding areas(simple off-view indoor houses plus concrete yards). The main one is on the service road splitting the area above 3 & 4.

Shifting rhinos. I think there are gates between all the paddocks. Swapping animals in the paddocks must involve bringing an animal into a holding area and releasing a different one(s) in its place from another yard.

Totals- probably thirty baboons. About 15-18 rhinos?

Yes, paddock 1 is really two separate paddocks. On both my trips this year there were no rhinos mixed in with the baboons.
