I think the zoo are taking all the necessary steps. Jingga and Jarang are separate from the other three adult Orangs who can still see them through the mesh. I think the faster he develops and can negotiate the indoor space himself the better because she does carry him in unusual places and they hope to merge the group again in the summer

You'd hope both Noorjahan and Tara are pregnant. It's been ten and twelve years since their last births respectively so certainly a priority.

Esha is a possibility, although I imagine she may be a slight bit young at this point. It would also be vital for her to witness a birth before she eventually gives birth herself.

Some chose to, though many (possibly most) don't as you said down to the risks of an elephant pregnancy.

Can confirm there's no elephant calf - saw all six individuals over the weekend.

That’s fantastic news! I hope it all goes well for Blackpool. I remember whrn Esha was born in 2014. Now she’s going on to have her own children. I’ll definitely try and visit them in the future.

One of the elephants (Noorjahan) looked very rotund. No staff in the elephants house to ask. Looked pregnant to me, especially when viewing from behind.

Wonderful! Esha was the first 'baby' elephant I saw and she was hilarious!

Even though I'm gutted Tara isn't pregnant, it's lovely that Noorjahan line will continue with hopefully 2 successful calves especially if one is female
