On May 10th, the zoo announced that they have opened a new concessions building, named GoGo Plaza. The space is between the tortoise and penguin exhibits.

So that's what the prairie dogs left for. Considering the zoo did not previously have a concessions building I guess it's a fine addition.
On May 17th, the zoo announced they are doing some renovations on the eastern black rhino exhibit, namely creating even more room inside the exhibit.

On May 26th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) Victoria-crowned pigeon named Victor has passed away due to age-related complications, such as atherosclerosis. He was 45 years old and was a father/grandfather for over 100 descendants.

On June 13th, the zoo announced that due to fewer cases of avian influenza, their emu, kori bustard, kookaburra, Eclectus parrot, and other Australian aviary birds are back on exhibit. The Discovery Center, as well as many other birds, remain off exhibit and closed.
