I took my friend up to see our local zoo a few days ago, because despite living in Iowa she had never been there. I was enjoying revisiting the zoo of my childhood immensely. Much to my dismay the Wet Lab has been removed since my visit last year and has been changed into a party room. The "touchpool" with its rubber starfish; the seahorses, clown fish and lionfish tanks; and many of my other favorite exhibits are no longer on display. Gone with it is also the educational displays on invasive species and on the impacts of chytrid.
The poison dart frogs are still on display and have been moved to wall tanks past the bat cave.
