Super photography on BP2, but I thought that the music and some of the sound FX were rather OTT.
Interesting point. For me Planet Earth II showed some new things and many familiar things from new viewpoints with some stunning photography. That was good. But Blue Planet II does both.
Not the first complaint I've heard about music in the BBC epics GL, but its all just part of the cinematic presentation and all-round drama?
I confess I'd never even noticed the music until I heard complaints about it. Now I hear it but am not averse to it at all.
The first episode was apparently the most watched tv program in the UK this year with over 14 million views (though yesterday's episode has probably even more viewers...).
I was very much entertained by The Deep, where the first episode lacked anything that even remotely looked like a story, this was much better done now. This new series surpasses Planet Earth II in every aspect, except maybe for the music and Planet Earth II was already pretty good (though it had too many lions and showed less new animals/behaviour)...

Just watched tonight's episode and loved it! The first scene in particular was amazing to watch. But my favourite part was learning about the man o war that was pretty cool.
Well yet again this episode didn't disappoint! My favourite moment was with the leafy sea dragons that was brilliant, I'm just going to say no one can do a nature series quite like the BBC!
And no one can narrate a nature documentary quite like David!
