Having viewed the new Bongo ARR, i thought it best to fill everyone in on the latest developments:
The population currently stands at six with three males and three females after the recent deaths of 1.1:
Melbourne - 1.1
Monarto - 2.0
Taronga - 0.2
One female at Taronga is post-reproductive.
The pair at MZ have been successfully introduced and the female is pregnant.
A male from Monarto was scheduled to be transferred to Taronga in October to pair with Taronga's other female though i'm not sure if this transaction has definitely taken place.
The species coordinator is investigating opportunities to import Bongo from the US into New Zealand and then into Australia.
