Does anyone have any information on the original bonobo troop and their 10 offsprings? I am looking for names and date of births and where they might be now. Is there a database with that information like the one for gorillas (www.gorilla-haven.org/jrdavis-gorilla-studbook/)? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

No idea where to find actual data about captive Pan paniscus. But it is nevertheless an interesting question.

They produce 10 offsprings 3 male and 7 female

That's a very short gap between babies. Were the babies handreared?

Yes, they were all hand raised. Quote from the book "Bonobo: The Forgotten Ape" By FRANS DE WAAL

"These two were so prolific that they produced the greatest number of children and grandchildren known of any bonobo couple, captive or wild, in the world. Part of the reason was that every newborn was taken away to the zoo nursery; this allowed Linda to skip the long nursing period and deliver at unusually short intervals: ten children in fourteen years."

Thanks Betsy. I see the twycross bonobos quite regularly, though I can't distinguish them yet. I've been focusing my id skills on the chimps groups first. twycross currently have 2 infants just approaching a year old both being mother reared thankfully :)
