Boobies in Captivity

After reading the title/headline of this thread, I startet smiling until I realized that I ignored some letters while reading... (guess which one);)

According to a report on the One Show the booby did not survive the stress of reintroduction :(

A wildlife rescue in the Florida Keys has a masked booby on display which is a permanent resident. I can upload photos of it if ya'll would like. It's name appears to be booby according to the signage.

Fairly certain that London Zoo had them in the 1960s.
Apologies for the delay in responding to your post (which I've only just noticed).

Indeed London Zoo did have red-footed booby in the 1960s.

The ZSL Annual Reports for 1960 and 1961 record that a red-footed gannet (i.e. red-footed booby) was acquired in both of those years.

Both the boobies received in 1960 and 1961 were donated by Captain D. Scorgie.

(Incidentally, in addition to the boobies, Scorgie also donated two Christmas Island frigate birds to the zoo, one in 1960 the other in 1961.)
