Are there any zoos in North America that keep Bornean Earless Monitors? I know this species is kept in several European zoos, but I don't know if any North American zoos keep them.
I believe all these Earless Monitors are descendants of individuals originally kept at iZoo in Japan. (The Earless Monitors kept at Prague Zoo also originally arrived from iZoo.)ZooTierliste says Gladys Porter Zoo and the Audubon Zoo both have the animal, it is certainly in the private trade on that side of the Atlantic so I imagine sourcing isn't an issue, although it says Audubon got them from Prague.
However for these types of questions I think a little browse through ZTL wouldn't hurt a bit for an information that can be sourced so easily.

Is this one reason why the earless monitors has come to be kept in several European zoos? (Conversely, I believe they are only kept in the two aforementioned zoos in North America.)Several European zoos keep earless monitors that were confiscated from various private people within Europe (they might be descendants from animals kept at iZoo in theory of course but that is hard to prove). For example Vienna zoo got some animals seized at Vienna airport ca 2015. Some were also taken by police at reptile markets in Germany/Netherlands since then and placed in zoos.
