What are people thoughts on this place, I have gone twice and they have an impressive collection of animals.

I have more opinions but that is a start...

I went when i was younger, and all i really remember was that i loved the animals, but thought the exhibits for them could be better

Lets hear what others think:)

I think they have a pretty interesting collection!!
The cages for the Lions, Tigers and some primates could be greatly improved, as well as the spaces for the Elephants( both African and Asian). Other than that the hoof-stock have pretty nice exhibits with lots of grass and space to roam, and the wolves have a pretty nice forested area where they can hide from the public. Correct me if I have mistaken anything!!

I've been to Bowmanville Zoo many times. But I would much rather spend my time and money at Jungle Cat World any day.

No, Limba is forty nine, far past breeding age. Maharani is supposedly already pregnant again from spike, and either by her 18th month of pregnancy or shortly after birth she will be sent to the united states with the other two cows at the zoo.

Thats what I thought but the artical mentioned Calgary being involved so I got confused. Wonder what their plans are since he cant possibly breed with their female? All sounds a little weird.

Limba is aging, and Colonel is young, 22, he has failed to produce any calves for the circus which he originates, so I assume they were trying to rehome him, and Bowmanville was seeking to continue their elephant program (not sure about the safety logistics with the free contact handling of a male elephant) but the ARA's definitely assumed because he was a bull he would be utilized by Calgary. Even though they have no need for that.

Limba ended up walking the parade today and stole a lot of sunshine away from Santa. Crowds of people were cheering her on throughout the parade route. It was quite amazing to see how excited everyone was and how thrilled people were to cheer her on. Looks like the police did a good job keeping the protesters under control. The Bowmanville Zoo seemed to put on a better show than ever with more animals. A zebra, several camels, a bunch of smaller horses, a large horse with a baboon riding on it, a pony, Limba of course and possibly some more animals that I've forgotten. I imagine taming a zebra is no easy task, as they can be quite dangerous and unpredictable. But things went well, people loved it all and good old Santa seemed to be of less excitement this time around.

Bowmanville thrilled to see Limba at the Santa Claus parade

Maybe it was good she marched in her last Santa Claus parade this year so the people who loved her got to see her one last time. Rest in Peace Limba.
