1.2 Sumatrans were imported from Indonesia in 2007.
2.1 Sumatrans were transferred from Mogo Zoo in 2004.
1.2 Hybrids also moved from Mogo in 2007.

I personally do not regard very highly the status quo here as I did not their move from KB Indonesia, Bogor to Australia Zoo. Both the SSP/EEP have for years worked for /advised the Indonesians on their programme with the promise of offspring finding their way back to have much need genetic additions to SSP/EEP stocks. It has not happened ..... and it is a damn shame.
All Sumatrans from KB Indonesia, Bogor should be mixed with the present Australian Sumatran breeding programme stock. Maturity has been reached and new pairings should already have been made ...???

You had quite a lot of questions. You are all right to assume that both the EEP/SSP populations are more or less closely related. Most Sumatran tigers in Indonesian zoos are unrelated and most are as yet wild-born without progeny. The ones at Australia zoo are offspring of wild born Sumatrans. For this reason, they are well sought after in all other coop species programme regions like SSP/EEP and also ARAZPA.
I remain curious how ARAZPA will tackle Australia Zoo on this?

Australia Zoo has six sumatran tigers.
The first litter is Juma, Ranu and Singha (born 2004) and the second litter is Bashii, Kaitlyn and Maneki (born 2007).
The second litter don't turn three till December so it is very likely Australia Zoo will allow them to breed when they reach maturity.

I would say that the decision whom to breed and where is the prerogative of the Species Coordinator ..?!!
I was NOT suggesting that the Sumatrans at Australia Zoo should now breed there and then (when in fact they are underage).

In the earliest post it was tabled the original Australia Zoo trio were born in 2004. The SPI Bogor trio were born in 2007.
As sexual maturity in female tigers is reached at about 3 years of age (with onset of first oestrus at 2,5 years of age). Male tigers mature later at between 4-5 years of age.
It is more than natural to thus assume that in expectation of setting up compatible and unrelated pairings that this process proceed as early as possible. That is the gist of what I am saying.
