9 total? Where did the other three come from? I think I have forgotten something
1.2 Sumatrans were imported from Indonesia in 2007.
2.1 Sumatrans were transferred from Mogo Zoo in 2004.

I personally do not regard very highly the status quo here as I did not their move from KB Indonesia, Bogor to Australia Zoo. Both the SSP/EEP have for years worked for /advised the Indonesians on their programme with the promise of offspring finding their way back to have much need genetic additions to SSP/EEP stocks. It has not happened ..... and it is a damn shame.
Yesis the SSP and EEP populations from the same lineages?
I would say that they are.and am i right in thinking that the 3 at australia zoo are possibly the 3 most valuable animals in captivity outside asia?
Yes
I would say that they are.
Australia Zoo has six sumatran tigers.
The first litter is Juma, Ranu and Singha (born 2004) and the second litter is Bashii, Kaitlyn and Maneki (born 2007).
The second litter don't turn three till December so it is very likely Australia Zoo will allow them to breed when they reach maturity.
I was NOT suggesting that the Sumatrans at Australia Zoo should now breed there and then (when in fact they are underage).
