The numbers continue to grow as the current strategy is to connect habitats. One proviso: any habitat suitable for Iberian lynx goes hand in hand with rabbit and chukar presence.

Red-legged partridge is the only partridge native withing Iberian Lynx distribution area. The releasing for hunters of farm red-legged partrigdes that are not pure and have some blood of chukar is a serious threat for red-legged partridges.

Yes, unfortunately, for people directly depended by agriculture, apex predators are sometimes still seen as a threat. Still, I am happy to see the comeback of the iberian lynx (IUCN updated the species as "vulnerable")
