What zoos in the UK keep the narrow striped mongoose ?
I mean apart from ZSL, Jersey, Newquay of course.
Chester (off-display, unfortunately) and Marwell (onshow since last year).

Surely there are fossas kept in more than four UK zoos ?
Five UK zoos - Chester, Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Five Sisters, Port Lympne and Africa Alive - so the same number as there are collections holding Narrow-striped Boky.
For some reason I assumed it was far more then that but I'm not doubting you on that.
I have probably been overestimating the number of zoos that have them because of other collections in Europe that I saw in the zoochat gallery that hold this species.
Well, as noted there have been a fair few collections which have ceased to keep the species in the last few years - and of the five which still do, two are relatively recent acquisitions.
The list of ex-fossa holders is worse than I thought, 7 have lost Fossa or closed in the last 5 years (if you count Ventura which also opened and shut during that time) : RSCC, Newquay, Belfast, Marwell, Folly Farm, Chessington and Ventura. Colchester lost them around 10 years agoWell, as noted there have been a fair few collections which have ceased to keep the species in the last few years - and of the five which still do, two are relatively recent acquisitions.
