Well, this one should be interesting..... the category is one we have already seen come up over in League A, so the scope of what it covers should be fairly evident - MOUNTAINS AND POLES.

I look forward to the discussions that will hopefully follow - so far we have had some very interesting debates whenever Jersey is in the frame, so I have high hopes we will see plenty of voting and plenty of debate :)

I think Jersey only really have the Spectacled bear, adder, blue crowned laughing thrush and red billed chough which could actually be classes as being species that are (though not endemic in the case of the adder and the chough) native to mountainous / montane regions or ecosystems.

This is compared to the numerous polar and mountain species kept by Edinburgh and highland wildlife park (which specializes in this kind of fauna).

Obviously this one is going to have to go to RZSS isn't it ?

So I voted for them but I prefer Jersey zoo and it's ethos 100 times more.

So is the single point you gave to Jersey because you prefer their ethos, rather than to reflect how well they fit the category? :p

Nope :p.

Actually, it would be because as I stated in my comment above Jersey do keep some endangered species native to montane habitats. For example: the spectacled bear, red billed chough, Monteserrat oriole and blue crowned laughing thrush (and perhaps the adder could be included too as it does inhabit mountane habitat across its range).

Also the Durrell trust have a history of trying to conserve some montane species in-situ and ex-situ such as the volcano rabbit, mountain coati, white eared pheasant, Monteserrat oriole which I believe is commendable and worth a point too.
