One of the Female Sea Lions did leave the habitat, however she returned to the habitat without leaving zoo boundaries.

I'm just imagining them having the time of their lives, swimming all over the zoo!
More seriously: I sincerely hope that the sea lions aren't out for an extended swim.

The scenes from New York look utterly dystopian. What has caused this? Of course it’s a storm but on this scale, so quickly? Utterly mental. I wonder how the aquarium is holding up. If there is any serious damage to any of their institutions I do worry about how the WCS will be able to bounce back; I know Sandy was a decade ago now but that required significant investment into the aquarium.

Hopefully all animals and staff across the institutions are okay! Fingers crossed no serious damage to any of the facilities either.

That's too bad about the show. I wonder why they stopped? It was my favorite show on TV. I totally get why they'd be sick of having filming going on, though; I imagine it puts a lot of pressure on keepers.
Glad to hear those birds are back on-exhibit. They haven't been out in Northern Ponds since at least the start of this year.

News from today's visit:
. The Amur Leopard exhibit was blocked off and appeared to have work being done on it. Hopefully they don't put Amur Leopards back into that puny enclosure and are able to find a more suitable replacement.
. The entire left wing of the daylight section in the Mouse House is now one attached enclosure for the zoo's Black & Rufous Elephant Sengis. The Degu and Northern Tree Shrew can still be found in the Children's Zee and Jungleworld respectively.
. The Fat-Tailed Gerbil Exhibit was unsigned and appeared to be vacated from it's exhibit.
. Unfortunately, it appears the zoo has lost their last Malagasy Giant Jumping Rat
. The signage on their old exhibit in the Mouse House was removed, and the Rat was nowhere to be found.
On an unrelated notes does anyone know if the Emu & Crane yards are still visible around WoB? I wasn't able to find them on my visit today, but it would be useful for future reference!

I believe that the leopard will unfortunately return as the renovations are apparently due to cracks in the glass.News from today's visit:

Also I have checked nearly every angle near the WoB and I cannot find the Emu or Cranes. I believe that they will not be be able to be seen until the 2nd floor reopens.

I also expect the work being done on the Leopard enclosure is to fix the glass rather than swapping inhabitants, though I'd really prefer it if their clouded leopard or Palawan Binturong were placed on-show there instead.
The zoo hasn't had a Fat-Tailed Gerbil in years now, I don't know why they've never removed that sign. The inhabitants I believe were more Pallid Gerbils.
That's really too bad about the giant rat. It was inevitable, though, and the last animal wasn't exactly very visible the past few years. It's really a shame that such a fantastic and endangered small mammal is on the verge of extirpation from US zoos
The Emu and crane yards are only visible from the second floor of WOB...

Do you know how old are they too?
No, but the animals on-exhibit have been at the zoo since 2008, having been born at Berlin some time prior to that. I'd say they're at least 16 years old.
