I have found the reports of the Bronx Zoo ornithology department at this link. These are published 3 times a year, with the most recent being from May 2018. They have reports dating back several years that include significant births, conservation projects and current research. The latest report found here details the birds born during the spring breeding season. Below I have list of births as noted in the report.
Births since the January Report:
- 1 Pink Pigeon
- 2 Golden-headed quetzal
- Red-bird of Paradise
- 2 Lesser-bird of Paradise
- 2 Helmeted Curassow
- White-breasted woodswallow
- Guam Kingfisher
- 3 Bali Myna
- 2 Great Argus
- 4 Green Junglefowl
- Band-tailed Pigeon
- Chestnut-backed Thrush
- Victoria-crowned Pigeon
- 1 African Spoonbill
- Zebra Finch
These are real interesting reads and provide insight into the zoos significant off-exhibit bird holdings.
- I meant to title this Bronx Zoo: Ornithology Reports if any mod could change that it would be greatly appreciated.
