I know about ibex island. Their where 2 ibex left when the island was destroyed and I read they where placed on the sheep mountain in the East mall

When construction started on Great Bear Wilderness the remaining Ibex were placed on exhibit on the backside of the old bear grottos. It's now a beer garden.
Ibex Island was originally a Sea Mammal Grotto and housed the zoos sea lions. In the mid to late 1950's the moat was drained, and it became Dall Mountain. Dall Sheep occupied the exhibit until the early 1970's. Ibex occupied the exhibit from the early 1970's until it was demolished.

Wilson is accurate about the history of the Mountain.
A small exhibit for Dall Sheep existed off to the side near Bear Grottos, was wilson mentioned, to hold the species until it died out, and that was where the last old Ibex was placed. It was never a well-promoted exhibit, even during the Bear Grotto days.

A zebra calf was born and can already be seen depending on the weather.
There is also rumor that a female polar bear from Toledo may come to mate with Hudson.
The fishing cat kittens have been named by donors: Kayuma and Bali Ja'I.
A male panther chameleon has been added to the collection after being found in the woods in DuPage County.
The red river hog piglets have been named Hamilton and Eliza.
King, a male black rhino born at Lincoln Park Zoo in 2013, has arrived at the Brookfield Zoo. He will most likely be staying at BZ until next fall on a SSP breeding recommendation.

Giant anteater Tulum has given birth to her second offspring, another girl, on November 15th. They will be off exhibit for the next few months.
Madalena, the female Mexican gray wolf born in last year's litter, has left for the New York Wolf Conservation Center.

Ah me and my questions. What exhibit is the chameleon in? Same with the Black widows. Is king on exhibit? Will he be breed with Layla instead of Nakili?
The chameleon is in the Habitat Africa! The Forest building. Black widows are in The Swamp building. Not sure if King is on exhibit yet, I actually just saw him at Lincoln Park Zoo yesterday. And yes, I'm assuming he will breed with Layla, instead of Nakili.
On male King: should have arrived from twin zoo Lincoln Park and is only 3 years old and the male offspring of their breeding female Kapuki (and male Makuu if I am correct). So, before you all go jumping up and down …., no he is not being introduced to female Layla as he is light years too young (a successful black rhino male should be at least 8-12 years old in order for the female to accept him as a good breeding partner). I have also been led to believe that Nakili * Layla is a good pairing (so, … in that sense probably get your hopes up … a little for the future).

The rhinos have moved around. King is in the grassy moated yard, Layla is in the middle yard, and Nakili is in the old elephant yard. Also King is only temporarily here until a mate is found.
The cotton top tamarins have left. A pair of goldies will soon occupy the island.
The emus in wild encounters are back on exhibit.
A rock hyrax was born.
The signs in the tropic world pathway have been completely removed. Anyone know why?
I can confirm... That the Amur leopard cub is adorable. He really adds life to the exhibit. Even his mom got a little feisty with me. (She try to scratch and bite me through the glass
)

Foli, an adult male Amur tiger from Rolling Hills Zoo, will be arriving at Brookfield soon. He will not be mating with female Whirl.
Nan, an adult female polar bear from Toledo Zoo, will be arriving at Brookfield early next year.

A female Kirk's dik-dik named Maddie, who arrived from the Maryland Zoo, will soon be introduced to resident male Captain for breeding. They will be on exhibit together in the spring.

WOW!! Does this mean the zoo has the largest captive pangolin population in the world?
Personally, I would have gotten a female gerenuk to mate with our male. Still exciting about the dik-diks.
