Does Brookfield Zoo have a "memories" type thread devoted to it? I'm not even really sure where that would be located on here if there was. If someone can give me a hand, though, I would greatly appreciate it!
I don't believe it currently does, this is probably the closet thing to that: Brookfield Zoo: Ideas, Dreams, Hopes [Brookfield Zoo]Does Brookfield Zoo have a "memories" type thread devoted to it? lucky I cant go as my 11 year old little sisters are still to young to be vaccinatedI’ll be heading to Brookfield Zoo with my family this Thursday. This will be the first time since 2016 since I’ve last seen everything in person.
Now anything new happened lately that I should know of that haven’t been discussed yet?

I guess that makes since a few months ago me, my mother, my two little sisters, and my two aunts and their young daughters both 5 years old went to the Lincoln park zoo and the only requirement was to wear masks toMy brother will bring his kids (one ten months and the other three years), just that they will have to wear masks or we would have to wear masks around them.
Clouded Leopard Rain Forest has reopened.
According to their website, the Australia House, Feathers and Scales, the Reptiles and Birds, Tropic World's Africa Section, The Pachyderm House, and The Indoor Part of the Hamill Family Play Zoo all remain closed. I assume parts of the Hamill Family Wild Encounters are as well.Yes, just in time for my zoo trip tomorrow.
How many more exhibits left to be reopened?
Quilbert, the zoo’s popular prehensile-tailed porcupine, died at 3 years old due to a sudden twisting of the intestine.
Would those have been the Togo Slippery Frogs? Weren’t those supposed to go on-exhibit eventually?Happened to be at the zoo today. The pangolin exhibit has been fully renovated into the African Rock Python exhibit. It seems a bit odd given the effort put into the species by the zoo. Perhaps a new exhibit will be created elsewhere? The old exhibit had some issues which I assume is why the curtains were put up back when the pangolins were on exhibit. I also noticed that the CLR lineup has changed with a few new species. Unfortunately, I’m unsure of the species but I believe it was Indian Ornamental Tarantula, some kind of yellow spotted frog or toad, and an Indochinese box turtle in the old python exhibit. Take that with a grain of salt considering my bad memory.
Doubtful. I was told they are planned to be added to Feathers and Scales. It wouldn't make much sense to have them in Clouded Leopard Rainforest anyway considering thats an exhibit centered around Borneo - then again this building hasn't always had a great track record of geographical accuracy.Would those have been the Togo Slippery Frogs? Weren’t those supposed to go on-exhibit eventually?

In between the elephant shrew exhibit and the new rock python exhibit there is a very small terrarium in one of the artificial tree trunks. Its super easy to miss and I myself didn't discover it until a few years ago.I also don't recall seeing the Emperor Scorpion on previous visits to Africa: the Forest. Have I been missing this exhibit? lol. If someone can give me a heads up as to where it was, I would appreciate it so I don't miss it again. I wonder why they would be examining the specimen.
Yup that’s the one. The exact name escaped me there. I wish it would’ve been the Togo Slippery Frogs though.Yeah, just after I made that post I realized that it was probably a Yellow-spotted Climbing Toad.
Tropic World in general has become increasingly empty in recent years. It feels a bit eerie seeing such large habitats feeling rather void of many animals. Gibbons don't mix well with other primates besides orangutans so I can't think of any other species that could be added to the Asia exhibit. For as long as I can remember its always been orangutans, gibbons, otters and nothing more.Anyone know why the Asia exhibit has become so sparse? On my visit, there was just a male-female pair of white cheeked gibbons, one single Asian small clawed otter, and two orangutans.
