Prior to the arrival of the new flock, flamingos were last displayed at the formal pool in 1997. The reason for the departure was the lack of adequate holding space during inclement weather. Reticulated pythons and emerald tree boas are back on exhibit in Reptiles and Birds.
The zoo's female cotton-top tamarin has passed away. Her mate will be off exhibit indefinitely so he can be socialized with other monkeys behind the scenes.
Female capybara Peru has been sent to Henry Vilas Zoo. The zoo still houses the male.
Any plans to bring in other Capybara?
It's also sad to hear about the tamarin, I'm assuming since their addition was for medical, it is a one and done addition.
