On October 27th, the zoo announced that the next statue in the garden would be of an elephant. On December 7th, the zoo posted an update picture of the elephant statue, which the zoo hopes should be on display in Spring 2022.

That's a bit disappointing to hear. Especially because of this reported in September of 2021...I visited today and found nothing new. I was expecting at least to see where the ground was broken for the pheasantry but nope.
The link to that article no longer exists... Does that mean they either broke ground and did not do anymore and it's possibly eroded away; or this groundbreaking in 2021 was more ceremonial than an actual groundbreaking? Was there any snow covering the ground that could have hidden even just a pile or patch of dirt?The zoo's annual celebration- Zoobilee was today.
