Following Norbi's death is Diane ('Niva') Budapest's only Amur Tiger?
Yes, but she won't last long because (I don't know exactly, but) Niva is 15+ years old.Following Norbi's death is Diane ('Niva') Budapest's only Amur Tiger?
Good news! I don't know when the parents rescued. The rescued pair of European kestrel (Falco tinnunculus tinnunculus) have become parents, 5 eggs have hatched! Does someone know when the zoo rescued these kestrels?

I can only shudder and shake my head in total disbelief, The Municipality itself should take some responsibility for misappropriation of funds and now not letting a half built up space be finished and fixed (hardly surprising with the rather suspect administration that is currently in office in Budapest).New problem with the Biodome: either the government and Budapest Capital don't want to give more money for the project after 62 billion HUF spent. The last construction deadline was 2024, but it seems impossible now.
I looked the construction area last week. No workers, around one metre high invasive plants... It seemed totally abandoned.
I don't know what will happen now.
I explain the background of the project. The Biodome is a part of a state project named Liget Budapest. The goal of this project was the rebuilding of Városliget, Budapest's biggest park where the zoo located. The government wanted to build a lot of museums besides the Biodome. The former mayor of Budapest didn't support the project, so the Városliget has been grabbed with a law from the Municipal. The Biodome ISN'T A MUNICIPAL PROJECT! It's the common project of the government and the zoo.I can only shudder and shake my head in total disbelief, The Municipality itself should take some responsibility for misappropriation of funds and now not letting a half built up space be finished and fixed (hardly surprising with the rather suspect administration that is currently in office in Budapest).
